The British Invasion!

THE BRITISH INVASION!

So now we have been found....there's just no escaping the BRITS!

They all must have sensed we were desperate for friends....but why all come on the same BUS???

It has been fantastic showing the friends and family our new world. David & Olwyn arrived first, enjoying the sun and surf....and a little tipple of New Zealand wine! A refreshing change of scenery after the 'hit & miss' England cricket tour so far!!!

David couldn't wait to get in the sea and try his luck at 'body boarding'.....ah, oh to be 9 again and learn to surf eh David!!!

The Turner & other 'arf party were just the 'Scouting Mission' for the next wave off attack from 'Blighty'.....and the Big Guns!

The 19th February 2008 will go down in History, for a major two pronged pinser movement occurred here in sleepy Papamoa. First sighting at 11.30am was Helen from Chorley, still on the run from a mad women at Next Generation Gym in Chorley. Followed by the major offensive from the south in the form of the Robinsons & Bradshaws (Big mistake to arrive 5 seconds late at the airport, which gave Kev the opportunity to blend in with the other wierdos on the flight, then surprise me by wandering around after me for 5 minutes whilst I panicked that I'd missed them!!! The surprise element was made all the easier for them that I had hurt my back, rendering me bent over double in agony....that would have killed a normal bloke!

So off we all went doing our various activities. Helen was over for the Lake Taupo swim with Clare, so some well needed practice was planned. The Robbos / Bradshaws were forced to endure the beach for surfing and body boarding. At this point all photos have been sensored due to the 'crop top' that Ian B was sporting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Needless to say we all had a fantastic time, and for Kev & Fran....some sunshine. The Robbos are officially banned from New Zealand, as prior to their arrival, it had been the hottest / driest summer on record, then the rain came on the same bus as them!

Day time activities soon became night...and what a feast. Cook your own food on 5000 year old rocks heated to 10000 degrees C! Damn things are still emitting heat....7 days later! But fantastic food. The nightlife was a bit of a let down....well we could've won the pub quiz....honest!!!

The next days land yachting was cancelled due to no wind....bloody first! But plan B worked very well, a fantastic meal at Mills Reef Winery. The Robbos were on a diet, sharing the starter. I must recommend the scallop jalfezi, stunning!!!

A very pleasent lunch, good food, cracking wine, just a pity we all got lost finding the place....well the drivers did....me and Clare!

Time flies so quickly, and before we knew it, the Southern Invasion was off to conquer new lands...Australia! One last tortureous night with my back....laughing crippled me, and with Kev and co around, it wasn't about to be rested!

Aarghhhhhh Just lost the picture of the group photo outside the 'Sunshine House'!!! will do a blog without me rabbiting on!

Thanks again to all our visitors....we are now detoxing!!!! ha ha managed to retrieve the photographic proof that the Robbos of Blackburn and the Bradders of Wellie were here!!!!
